In The Garden
Acyrlic and Pencil
30×40 canvas
2022
In the Garden is a large-scale abstract composition dominated by a vertical division of color. The work captures the charged stillness of the moment before Jesus is seized in the Garden of Gethsemane — a liminal pause between solitude and violence, prayer and betrayal. The golden shaft suggests divine presence or revelation, while the black form represents the inescapable force of fate closing in. The intersecting lines evoke both physical confinement and the unseen threads of destiny.
