About the Series

This series began with an abandoned trestle bridge where someone had painted APATHY across the span—crude, direct, and unexpectedly vulnerable. That single word raised a question: What kind of internal weather makes someone climb a derelict structure just to leave a message like that behind?

These paintings explore isolation through fragments of the bridge—cropped, scaled, and reinterpreted against an icy, vacant sky. The cool turquoise palette and wide negative space create a sense of emotional distance and stillness.

The structures are not shown literally. They sit between representation and abstraction—the bridge becoming a suggestion rather than a subject. What remains is mood, tension, and the quiet space between numbness and reflection

Each print is adapted from one of the original paintings and preserves its layered texture, atmospheric washes, and internal stillness.
